From the oral history collection: Chris Lacey
Chris Lacey was born in Tasmania in 1948 and is a grandson of Joe and Dame Enid Lyons. Joe was Prime Minister of Australia from 1931 to 1939, when he died in office, and Dame Enid was the first female Member of the House of Representatives, serving from 1943 to 1951.
In this edited excerpt from an interview in the Oral History collection, Mr Lacey talks about his grandmother, or “nanny” as he calls her, and a very special gift she gave to his fiancée.
