‘This is a wake-up call for us all … we have to get together to reimagine our democracy.’
– Senator Linda Reynolds
The Institute for Governance and Policy Analysis (IGPA), in collaboration with the Museum of Australian Democracy and Telstra, recently brought together a group of eminent politicians and commentators including Mark Evans, Luke Gosling OAM MP, Michelle Grattan AO, Senator Linda Reynolds CSC, Cathy McGowan AO, Jon Stanhope AO and Virginia Haussegger AM in a panel discussion on trust, populism and the ideal politician.

‘… something with authenticity.’
– Jon Stanhope
‘… there is no ideal politician … it’s important that we have a total diversity of politicians …’
– Michelle Grattan
This panel discussion was part of the Smart Governance Conversations on Desirable Futures series and was held here at MoAD.
