From rural Tasmania to the global stage: the journey of Christine MilneEvent
14 November 2017
Join us for this special event as Christine Milne, former leader of the Australian Greens, and Gillian Triggs, former President of the Australian Human Rights Commission, share personal stories with an open audience at the Museum of Australian Democracy about what it means to be a woman in Australian politics.
Be inspired by the stories of how Christine Milne became a fiery environmental warrior and social justice advocate, and explore the backstory to objects from the museum collection that help tell the tale of a global activist. As a museum that puts a spotlight on the power of individual and collective voices in our democracy, we are delighted to open our doors to the Senate Chamber to launch Christine Milne’s memoir – An Activist Life.
Copies of Christine’s memoir will be available for sale in King’s Hall from 10.00 am. Christine will also be available for a book signing after the event.
This event is hosted by the Museum and University of Queensland Press.
