While the subject of police and political corruption had been alive and unwell in Queensland for decades, not until 1987 and 'The Moonlight State' program was change initiated. The program helped instigate the Fitzgerald Inquiry, which generated significant reforms within Queensland and across Australia. Police Commissioner Sir Terence Lewis was jailed, and the long reign of the Bjelke-Petersen government ended.
