The Museum of Australian Democracy acknowledges the traditional owners and custodians of country throughout Australia. We recognise their continuing connection to land, waters and community. We pay our respects to the people, the cultures and the elders past, present and emerging.

The museum respectfully acknowledges the role that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples continue to play in shaping Australia’s democracy.

      Where to eat

Food and drink cannot be brought into the museum.

If you are bringing your own food and drinks, there are garden areas on either side of the building, which are suitable for a picnic lunch.

There are also bathrooms in the garden areas your students can use before and after programs.

      Access and enrichment

There are access ramps into the lower security entrance on either side of the main stairs. Lifts provide access to all levels of the building.

We have developed Social Narratives to support students visiting the museum. We also have a sensory box option as part of our onsite primary program – People Power and Making Change.

Please let us know at the time of booking or before your arrival your access and inclusion requirments so we can provide support. For more information please see MoAD Venue and Safety Information.
