Who Wins, Who Loses?

This cartoon was published in early 2025, a year and a half after a UNICEF spokesperson declared Gaza ‘the most dangerous place in the world to be a child’. The United Nations has called the conflict ‘the war on children’. While the casualty figures are contested, in July Gaza’s Ministry of Health put the child death toll from direct military action at 18,457. Since then, many more children have been wounded, with Gaza now home to most of the world’s child amputees.
